Problems with MCP V2 from Opencockpits

Post by snu1962 » 01 Aug 2017, 10:46

Hi friends. I have several instruments and hardware from Saitek and Opencockpits. All is running fantastic and it is a pleasure to make them work with Spadnext.
But I wonder, that Spadnext does not find the MCP V2 from Opencockpits. The other two items from Opencockpits, I use, two EFIS, are working well with Spadnext.
Spadnext does not find the MCP, though it is Plug an Play and I do not have an idea, why, because the MCP is connected and will be find by the Win 10 system. The proof, that it works is, that SIOC takes notice of the MCP and it runs and works with the SIOC Script and ini without any failure or malfunctions.
But I would prefer Spadnext, cause it is not so complicated to program an item. Just a few mouseclicks and the selection of a function.
And it is better, if less programs are running in the background, as possible.
Can anybody give a solution suggestion, to solve my problem and tell me, why Spadnext does notfind or see the MCPV2 from Opencockpits in the program surface?
Thanks for your help.

The MCP V2 has a diffrent protocol than the V3. Since the protcol is not open, i cannot implement it, as I do not have the device to debug it.

Where did you get the protocol for the actual version? May be you can get the protocol for the V2 also there or opencockpits is willing to reveal it.

OC is not responding to my emails. I got the Protocol for the V3 by debugging/reverse engineering it with an usb analyzer

I have no idea, how to do that, but maybe I can use that software and send you the data? There exists more than me, who still use the V2.

Please open a Ticket from within SPAD.neXt (http://www.spadnext.com/discover/how-to/get-help.html) , then I'll send you some test-stuff.

If I figured it out how to analyse the USB devices, does the interface support adding unsupported OC myself?

Yes of course. You need to implement your own extension. https://github.com/c0nnex/SPAD.neXt

Ah, for now that might be out of my reach, but thank you - I'll look into that :)
