Hi Daz, How do you stop the shaft from pulling out of the FIP, is there an inside collar?
Nope nothing holding in, I just burr the end of the shaft and it’s a very tight fit. I literally can’t pull mine out, which I was surprised about myself

I use radio controlled aircraft control rods (2mm) as the shaft and works perfectly

Recently one of the Outer knobs on the Saitek Radio Panel stopped rotating 360 deg, only about 180 deg. I did not put force on it as it felt like it was going to break. I disassembled the panel for inspection ( WARNING - YOU CANNOT REMOVE THE KNOBS FROM THE OUTSIDE, THEY ARE HELD IN PLACE BY LOCKING COLLARS).
Dis assembly is a bit trickey. When finnaly pulled apart, I found that the Outer knob has a COG that rotates the shaft of the rorary switch with a smaller COG. The large COG was split with not much face to re glue.I decided to try to make a replica using Fusion 360. After many hours of design and printing 3d drafts I got a cog that works.
Replacement Cog.jpg
A bit rough but fits on the shaft and works, all 24 teeth mesh OK and the knob feels normal.
Now I will try to make replacement FIP knobs.
Good Morning,
My Radio Panel is having the same problem, unfortunately in the 2 buttons, I couldn't find that replacement gear, nor Saitek / Logitech responded for repair. Would you be able to send the 3D file to try to find someone to do it here in Portugal?
Thank you in advance and congratulations for the work developed.

Hi Steve! I have the same problem! planned obsolescence?

Loctite superglue definitely not working 😂

Can you send me the file and I am looking for a 3d printer in my area?

Thank you very much, you are my savior and the savior of the planet for not having to generate more garbage that can be fixed.

I'm also having the exact same issue. Luckily I have an Ender 3. Any chance you can send me the STL as well? There are few things I love more in this world than a functional print and this one is awesome!!
