HID (Human Interface Device for those who don't know) controllers are directly recognized by FSX/P3d when you plug them in. So programing (to use the word very loosely) this within the simulator isn't a problem.
But will SPAD.neXt ever recognize HID/USB devices?
For instance, I took the board out of a USB game controller.
And soldered 5 wire leads to the board. (ground & 4 buttons)
Next I modified my CH Products yoke.
to accept LED switches.
Within the sim I have them programmed to light up as warning lights.
So if I'm flying an aircraft such as the amphibious Otter and want to lower the rudders on the pontoons, the red light is a reminder that the rudder is down. Another light is a reminder that the wingtip floats on a seaplane are down after takeoff.
Want to do anything else where a lit switch would be useful? Not a problem. But they would work best with SPAD.neXt profiles.
FSUIPC profiles can do it, of course, but I'd rather switch off as much as possible to SPAD.neXt.

Re: Is the ability to read & use HID in the future?
Basically SPAd.neXt can work with _ANY_ USB Device, I'll just need to add it to the known devices and add support for it to the panels / make a new panel.
All I would need VendorID, ProductID (Get it from Windows Device Manager) , what product it is (as exact as possible) etc.
I'll contact you via PM

Could Goflight modules be included?

Re: Is the ability to read & use HID in the future?
GoFlight can be included of course.
However this is a bit more complicated than "Joystick" support like for the gamePad oldairmail uses. Those have Standard-API's that are the same for every device.
The GoFlight Hardware will use custom USB-Messages like the Saitek do, I assume.
So I will need either
- Someone gifting me the hardware (ugh... expensive stuff... unlikely)
- Someone handing me the hardware for a couple of weeks to implement it ( maybe possible, if someone has some spare)
- Goflight sending me a sample for some time (hmm dunno)
- A complete USB-Message Documentation (Don't know if that exists, will check that)
- Someone with a lot of time (and the devices) to debug the messages ourselves ( very unlikely because it takes really a lot of time)
Most easiest would be if GoFlight seeks for including their hardware in SPAD.neXt. This would ease up things

Keyboard macros when this is added will it also be able to read two(2) keyboards like the HIDMacro program that is out there and no longer suppored?

Keyboard macros are already up and running. You give it a try. ( Registered only feature, so you either need a registration or trial)Oz Flyer wrote:Keyboard macros when this is added will it also be able to read two(2) keyboards like the HIDMacro program that is out there and no longer suppored?

keymacros are awesome in SPAD really useful in other Windows games or applications
Can SPAD polish my new Ferrari when I'm at work? it seems to be able to do everything else.
