Virtual Joystick emulation

Post by LIT206 » 07 Apr 2015, 09:18

Hi c0nnex,

thanks again for this amazing work. I was wondering if you plan, similarly as previous SPAD, to emulate virtual joystick?
It will be very useful, especially for aircrafts that will not enjoy special mode (I am a big fan of Flight1's ATR72, and I don't think any special mode will come, so virtual joystick is the way to go).

Thanks a lot for this consideration (no hurry though, as I still can use SPAD.OLD...)

Hi,

if you watch the Video about Alpha 1 you will see (and hear) that this is planned....

Hi Ulrich,

I indeed watch this video (quite long time ago I confess) and didn't remember you mentionning it. Anyways, I just wanted to make sure, here I'm satisfied!

Good luck!

Hi c0nnex,

just downloaded the latest beta, and eagerly tried the virtual joystick function you implemented.
However, I think it needs to be slightly modified. Indeed, you give the possibility to assign on virtual joystick button to each switch/rotary know. Actually I think it should be as follows:
- for the rotary knob: 1 virtual joystick button for each position
- for switches: 1 virtual joystick button for ON position, and one for OFF
- for gear lever: 1 button for Gear Up, and one for gear Down

This is the logic that was used in SPAD.oLd. I haven't been trough the configuration for the multipanel, and will let you know if I find anything similar.

Many thanks again for your efforts on this great driver software!

I agree, it was also on my snag list to raise. We had the same issue with FSX controls assigned to switches in that there was only one parameter for both on and off. I've also noticed some issues programming the multipanel buttons for virt joy and FSX control, been too busy using SPAD.neXt and enjoying FSX to report minor issues, but will get round to reporting findings, but don't want to interrupt c0nnex form getting radio working :-) so I can retire old SPAD. I've already replaced old SPAD in my auto start and auto shut down FSX config

Make sure you set the rotary to work as individual positions.

Add a feature request in the tracker please. Else I'll forget about it.

Hi c0nnex,

thanks for your reply. I actually forgot to uncheck this box. However, I just did, bt still, with virtual joystick button, I can assign only one. As for the rest, I will add feature request.

Thanks a lot !

You can have a look at Fixup 5 (http://fsgs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=117)
Virtual Joysticks got some implrovements there.
