May I suggest something?
If it's possible: a LOCAL variable that display nothing on Radio (or Multi) Panel.
(For the moment, the "minimal" LOCAL variable will display at least one 0)

There will be "Command" to turnoff a display in 0.9.
If you do not bind a data to the display it should be turned off as well.
However that's not possible for the multipanel. You can either turn it completely off or on, but not just clear the value.
