PMDG 737NGXu landing lights

I am trying to get the landing lights to work with my equipment.
I am using the action PMDG737:EVT_OH_LIGHTS_R_FIXED together with the "L" equivalent as well as the 2 (L and R) RETRACT actions - all with Parameter 1.
Whatever combination I use (I have also used parameter 0), only the left one comes on and blinks on/off till I turn it off.
I note that it is a 2 step process when using the switch on the overhead panel within the application.
Any thoughts on this?
