PMDG 737 NGX on multipanel

Post by CaptHunt » 08 Oct 2018, 19:43

I already posted this in the profiles board, but it appears no one sees it down there, so I'm reposting here. Mods feel free to delete the earlier thread.

I need some help setting up the multipanel to work with PMDG's 737 NGX. I've tried all of the PMDG 737 profiles available in SPADnext, and none of them have the autopilot properly mapped to the multipanel. Sometimes the MP doesn't function at all. Sometimes the buttons come on, but immediately switch off when I try to use the dial. Sometimes it seems to work, but what I dial in on the MP screen doesn't correspond to what the aircraft's AP is actually set to. It's all over the place. What do I need to do to set this thing up right?

I tried asking PMDG, and they just sent me back here.

While I have the PMDG 737 NGX and multipanel, unfortunately I don’t use the multipanel as I have an Open Cockpits MCP which I programmed manually.

Any reason why you can’t program the multipanel yourself using PMDG Local variable and events?

The 737 profiles should work gave you tried to fix the broken controls using your own PMDG variables/events

VaderMike777 has some nice video tutorials on how to use Spad.Next to Program devices.

Ok, I watched those, but I'm still kinda lost here, the profiles and snippets I've been looking at should be working as near as I can figure. Maybe I'm missing something important.

did you enable the SDK to broadcast the values in the PMDG Config File? Also did you make sure that you do not have any Saitek or Logitec software installed and running that would be sending off the Default Simconnect AP commands and not the PMDG values?

In addition to the PMDG broadcast settings you need to make sure LVAR bridge is installed and working and PMDG support is enabled in SPAD

Can you see any PMDG variables in SPAD at all? If not you are never going to get the panels to work.

I thought LVAR was a P3D thing. I'm using FSX:SE.

No LVAR is specifically an aircraft thing not a simulator thing, both p3d and FSX/FSX-se
