Spad.neXT Alfa 2

The Anti-Ice offsets are for engine 1 to 4 listed as <Name>ENG1 Ant-Ice / Carb heat</Name> in the FSUIPC offsets.xml .
A new install of alfa 2 when started pops up a msg that a blank profile is to be created and the panel shows all SW unconfigured.

How can we create a new Profile?? and activate it?? I think the settings panel would be a priority now.

The Engine rotary SW works OK for Off, L, R, Both/ALL but does not go to Start when you move the SW .

Also I have the Batt SW configured and enabled, turned on in the panel and the sim, I close Spad.next , and then open it again without closing the SIM, the batt sw in the panel is ON , in the SIM is ON and in the picture of the devices is OFF and flashing although there is no out of sinc

Hmm that's most likely because you did not overwrite the old SPAD.neXt-. Next Version will have a installer and do autoupdates. That should fix that issue.

Not possible right now. You need to edit the profile with a text editor

It is technically not possible to query the status of the switches of the panel upon start of SPAD.neXt. You must press any switch for the Program to get the first switch status! Upon start for SPAD.neXT all switches are assumed to be "off". There will be an option in future to assume the switches will have the same state as when the program closed the last time.

Ulrich, there are some strange things happening,
1 . After unzipping and to a new folder and running from there Spad.neXT the message appears saying "no default profile found, a blank one will be created. OK, then Spad opens and when I go to close it without having changed anything says the current profile has been changed do you want to save I say Yes . in the profiles folder I now have 2 files Profile.xml and Profile - c0nnex.xml. Profile.xml is a blank profile (no config data). Then I start Spad again and crate 2 configs, one for Batt and one for engine OFF , close and save , the Profile.xml file is changed but as you see the Engine SW OFF does not get enabled, if then I open again spad and enable Engine sw and disable batt and save , Profile.xml changes the batt to isEnabled="false", but the engine SW stays isEnabled="false".
No for something more interesting, if I change batt to enable and close I get the save msg , save and OK. But iuf I change the Engine to enable and close , it closes without asking and ofcourse changes nothing.

Trying to find some solution to get your profile to take I rename it Profile.xml and remove all other profiles from the folder , I get the msg no default found and creates a blank profile called profile1.xml

I can now start trying variations on upper case and lower case prifile.xml and all thigs happen.

and by the way when I hover the mouse over the engine , it does not say enabled configured , only says Engine Use right mouse to configure as the older version.

All this was done without a SIM running, here is the log from a clean unzip to the end.

Ulrich , I am discoverng a lot of things the hard way, to get your Profile - c0nnex.xml to work I had to edit it to change the name <Name>Demo profile c0nnex</Name> to <Name>Profile.xml</Name>, then rename the file to Profile.xml, if I only change the filename, spad will say I create a blank one and does with the name profile1.xml.

I think that the best way to solve the out of sync problem is to do nothing and Warn the user that that can be so, otherwise people will complain that 1) they cannot use all the SW or, that when they move a switch to resync maybe the engine stops...etc. In reality the panel is to be used with a cold/dark aircraft...all sw OFF.

Found that, I have spad.neXT n the exe.xml. start P3D , the spad.neXT window appeaars, P3D continues , I select an aircraft, loads and eventually the Green gear lights appear, the Sim is cold and dark so I press the batt SW, nothing happens, when I look at the switches they are all unconfigured. then I close Spad and restart spad and all the sw now work OK.

the window shows FSUIPPC connected and Aircraft: realAir Beech..and at the top ( Profile.xml )

Here is a log of the whole thing from Start P3D , the first keypress is Batt, then close spad, start spad and press batt again and panel light, close spad , close P3D

Ulrich, an update, as suspected the problen occurs becaus FSUIPC is not yet running, the proof is in the fact that I placed in the fsuipc.ini this entry

[Programs]
RUN1=CLOSE,"H:\FLIGHT SIMULATOR FILES\SPAD\SPAD.neXt.0.1.1.4680\SPAD.neXt\SPAD.neXt.exe" and all works as designed. Also as I included CLOSE , it closes when the sim closes.

So it needs to check for FSUIPC to be running before doing anything.

Here is my profile showing the engine rotary SW configured but not enabled , although I tick enable before closing and saving, also I changed in the profile.xml isEnabled="false" for isEnabled="true" in all the "sel_.. lines but when I start Spad it is still disabled..

And this is Log from the start of spad with a cessna default in FSX (fixed gear) I enabled the eng SW in the profile but as I said did not work and then enabled it in the spad window and turned the SW a couple of times but no SIM change.

It would have been easier to change

in the "Profile - c0nnex.xml"

Currently SPAD.neXt only loads the first Profile it finds which has the "<IsDefault>true</IsDefault>" tag.

Profile and Settings is currently being worked on.

If I start a flight with a helicopter the spad window shows an out of sync with the Gear Lever, there is no way to stop the flashing.

hmm never checked with a helicopter. But since helicopters do not have retractable gear it might come to a racing condition. I'll test that later today.
For now I would suggest the following:
Disable the Gear in SPAD.neXt , exit the application, and restart it, so it will ignore the Gear-Status. Restarting is necessary since the public version currently does not support disabling of events that have been enabled once in a session.

The rotary switch for the engine is a special case. The "IsEnabled"-Flag in the profile is not used for them. I'll look into the start-issue.

Please split your problems/reports into separate topics, it's very hard to follow and keep track now.
e.g. "Alpha 2 Engine Switch not working" , "Alpha 2 Gear switch problem with helicopters" etc
(and please make use of the now working attachment function to attach the logs etc

)
