Logitech acquires Saitek

Post by pmb » 16 Sep 2016, 09:30

Hi,

to my fellow Saitek users:

http://blog.logitech.com/2016/09/15/cre ... es-saitek/

For most of us it's certainly not unexpected given Saitek's agony during the last year. Let's see how it will pan out.

Kind regards, Michael

This actually might be something good. Let's see which products they will continue and which not.

In my wildest dreams I even imagine them expanding the product line. An affordable force-feedback yoke would be great.

BTW, the Saitek FB page (which was rather an anti-promotion) already disappeared.

Kind regards, Michael

I have a warranty issue with my Yoke and got a reply from Logitech support that the yoke is no longer available.

As you are aware, the product Pro Flight Yoke for PC and Mac is no longer available. What we can offer is a refund of the product or you can choose a different one in the same price range. Once you make your decision, please contact us back, so we can proceed in the way you want as soon as possible.

Not sure how seriously this is but it does not sound good.

Crap -- So all of the Cessna Yokes and Pedals are gone from the website. Really??? At least if they are going to dump the license agreement on the logo give us the 90 Degree travel for the Pro Yoke. Also to bad about the pedals. I find the Pro Flight pedals are too flat and really need to be pitched forward more like the Cessna pedals.

Also the TPM is gone too -- so glad I have one already.

Well....
I see no difference in the service provided by Logitech.
Finally was able to contact them last week (Wednesday morning) about a FIP that I had just received as a present that is faulty (tried changing cables and USB plugs).
Got a ticket number (04288463) and was told somebody would contact me in 24 to 48 hours via email or telephone concerning warranty, etc.
Nothing!!!!!!!!

Logitech just bought Saitek about 5 - 6 weeks ago. Give then time to heir, train, and build up a support department for the old Saitek line. I'm sure that the Logitech help staff knows very little about Saitek equipment at this point. Any answer that you get from them will probably be a "best guess".

I'd guess 4 to 6 months MINIMUM, before they'll have things going well enough. And I'm being an optimist. :D

Heck, the guy you talked to may be the whole Saitek department right now.

Let me ask, the FIP that you were given. Was it new? Can you have it returned, and get one later?

Personally, anything made in the last days of Saitek would be suspect. When you see the Logitech name ON the equipment (not just on the box), then you'll know that it's a new, and not a refurbished/returned, item.
1 Saitek Switch Panel, 1 Radio Panel, 1 Multi Panel, 1 BIP, 1 FIP,
1 Saitek Rudder Pedal,
1 Saitek Throttle, 1 Saitek TPM, 1 Desktop Aviator GPS, 1 CH Yoke
