New User Question

Post by Les Parson » 15 Jun 2021, 03:48

I started with SPAD Next and the Switch Panel just a couple of days ago. I am frustrated because I am trying to accomplish what I thought was a simple task. With the X-Plane 11 Carenado T210 Centurion, all I want to do is disable the Cowl Flap switch in order manage the flaps incrementally. I planned to use a separate piece of hardware and map separately thru X-Plane. I have edited the xsaitekpanel.ini file Cowl Flap entry to "0" to disable. I even completely deleted the entire cowl flap entry in the .ini and no matter what I try, the switch continues to function with either the full open or full closed position.

Any assistance will be much appreciated.

In user interface, click on cowl switch. Below click on code and hit delete button on right. You shouldn’t be manually editing any files

Thanks. I tried that many times but still, the switch continues to control the cowl flaps. I wonder if I should re-install the software.

If you deleted the cowl coding in SPAD and it’s still functioning this suggest you have Logitech drivers installed and it will be making the changes not SPAD. :-)

Common mistake. If using SPAD you need to remove or disable your saitek/Logitech drivers

Thanks for the response. I'm having trouble trying to locate logitech/saitek drivers. This is for X-Plane 11.

Never owned xplane so can’t advise about manufacturer driver removal but assume you installed manufacturer drivers previously.

If you did then you would need to uninstall.

To prove this theory turn off SPAD and see if switch still works. If it does then you need to uninstall the manufacturers drivers which is probably as simple and removing for windows add/remove programs

Delete the Logitech Addon from X-Plane
(X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins)
