How to hold an simulation eveny on a switch.

Post by llamareto » 30 Apr 2020, 22:22

Hello In want to start the engine of a single plane using the autotrottle logitech multipanel switch. I can setup spad to do but when I use the switch to arm action only remains a seconds and rhe key starter back to the magnetos position into the Vc panel.

I want to hold the start position while the multipanel switch is in arm position.

Wich is the action or variable to do this?

Some starter switch's are timed in the software and you can not hold them.
I have found many over the years that are like this.
Some times not always you can test in VC mouse click switch to start pos and it will stay for a while then return.
If so then this is what you are seeing.

If there is a dataref for the switch position or the starter. You can try controlling it instead of sending a simulation event.

I use similar engine start for my twins, using rocker switches on Saitek TPM. Slightly different approach for each addon. For example I change virtual switch position dataref for KA350, but sending starter on simulation event is more than enough for Baron58. I think for some momentary on off virtual switches, I even used sending and holding a keyboard key press.

I did it with SPAD but the start position only remains few seconds (more or less acording setup values, then back to magnetos pos.) and need to combined with magnetos pos. for engine start.
thanks anyway.
