Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
I have installed Spad both on my main FS computer and on the networked one which basically runs my FIPs and panel and both are working. You need to manually copy across the appropriate bridge file(s) and edit the dll.xml to start the bridge files but it working fine with my A2A C182.
Plane detection works fine (even changes of aircraft). It even knows when i have an aircraft i don't have a profile for. Spad shows the simulation as 5.0.21.34709 LH P3D.
Just flown a 40 minute trip with nil issues

Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
Hello all,
I've just installed P3DV5 and tested one plane.
The SPAD-neXt profiles existing under P3DV4.5 seem to be functionnal, except for the LVAR Bridge (as said in a previous post, it only recognize P3DV4).
But, I think it would be better to create (or duplicate) specific profiles, especially if you have two quadrants (but I have to control this) for the main commands (keys and axis) are the same in V4 and V5.
So, I hope to succeed using SPAD-neXt with P3DV5, without too much problems.
By the way, I'm waiting for new planes and utilities fully compatible, as the visual quality of the V5 is very smart (and without lack of FPS, regarding P3DV4.5 on the same computer).
"Affaire à suivre" to be followed as we say in French.

Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
Yea, this looks promising! I am now looking at using the built in axis assignments. I've always used FSUIPC but they want us to purchase again so I am looking at using my SPADnext.. why not? The question I have from users here, when I set up an aircraft profile will that include any custom axis/buttons I create? Looks like I already know the answer but just double-checking. May take a tad longer to set up but hey, cheaper than buying yet another version of FSUIPC.

Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
Can one create separate profiles for the same type aircraft but used in different platforms? For example, could I create a Cessna 182 for P3Dv4 and another for P3Dv5 and have different assignments for each? This is related to using my FSUIPC that I have been using for years with P3Dv4 and trying out SPADnext axis assignments for P3Dv5. Hope I am making sense to all here.

Hello Clutch Cargo
I think of a simple way to do it : you can duplicate the V4 profile, rename the copy with V5 in the title and make eventually some adjustments...
I did it with a "generic" profile ("one prop, fixed gear"). For the moment, it seems to work. Care to search from inside options of P3D for some possible conflicts...
Good luck.

Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
Thx, Albe. Will start messing around with it.
Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
I was able to get the LVAR bridge to work. I just had to add an entry to P3DV5's DLL.xml and place the spdbridge64.dll in the modules folder:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>SPAD.neXt LVAR Bridge</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>modules\spdbridge64.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

Re: Prepar3D v5 and SPAD.next
I did the same basic thing with the LVAR bridge, but moved it to a new location, and did the add-on.xml method.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4.0" id="add-on">
<AddOn.Name>SPAD.neXt LVAR Bridge</AddOn.Name>
<AddOn.Description>SPAD.neXt LVAR Bridge</AddOn.Description>
<AddOn.Component>
<Category>DLL</Category>
<Path>P:\P3D v5 Add-ons\SPAD.neXt\spdbridge64.dll</Path>
</AddOn.Component>
</SimBase.Document>
I honestly haven't done much testing of it. It got the error to go away, but I haven't looked hard to see if I'm using it at all.
