User defined events?

Post by ton » 22 Aug 2019, 22:38

Hi all, my first visit to this forum. I have installed Spad.Next after weeks of problems with the Logitech FIPs and this has helped enormously. My setup is now more or less running on the box-CRJ 700 and I'm very happy with it. However, I do run into one problem with the Multipanel (maybe I missed something?): when APR hold is activated, the NAV and ALT button lights will be switched off when the localizer and the glideslope are intercepted. At least... when the multipanel is connected to FSX with the Saitek drivers. With SpadNext the Nav hold and Alt hold functions are disabled at intercept (visible on the CRJ 700 switch panel), but the Multipanel buttons are still lighted. Programming the other buttons I found out that I need a separate activity to switch the button lights on/off. However with APR turning off NAV and ALT button lights should be bound to the intercept event. That's where I get lost.. are events defined for the intercept that I can bind this action to? Or can I define a user event? If so, how do I go about it? I can find no information whatsoever, except the mention of "custom user events" being available.

You can do this by defining a Light-Event at the multipanel, adding a condition
if NAV1 HAS GLIDE SLOPE is true
turn Nav and Alt Light off.

it also moit be a problem that Light and Button-Mode are independ. Check "Light follows Button mode" Setting. Usually the Light should go off if it goes off in the plane.#

Thank you Ullrich,

In the meantime I have progressed, did some more digging.... I am now using the virtual panel (script panel) and so far it does exactly what I want. Light/button sync was a problem, but I think I solved that. Will try your suggestion though.

One Suggestion:
You can replace the script-panel by a "scripted event" on the button of the multipanel. This way you have all multipanel related stuff at one place.

Tried that now, but does not do the job I want: if I switch of AP HDG in the cockpit, the light on the Multipanel should also go off, but it does not with the scripted event on the button. Via the script panel it works perfect!
Thks for your help and suggestions. I'm getting there, eventually

Oh wow that is strange and sounds like a bug aeh undocumented feature :-D
Can you please open a ticket from within spad.next while that profile is loaded, so i can have a look at it and check what might cause the "scripted event" not to work as expected.
