Steps required to Program the PMDG737 TCAS switch

Post by solo86 » 18 Jan 2016, 19:34

I'm going to use the Saitek Switch Panel Starter Switch as the PMDG737 TCAS mode switch.
STBY
ALT RPTG OFF
XPNDR
TA ONLY
TA/RA

They both have 5 positions.

So far I have achieved the following

OFF - SEL_OFF_LABEL - Simulation Control - PMDG737:EVT TCAS MODE - Set OFF (0)
R - SEL_R_LABEL - Simulation Control - PMDG737:EVT TCAS MODE - SingleClick: Right Mouse ButtonR
L - SEL_R_LABEL - Simulation Control - PMDG737:EVT TCAS MODE - SingleClick: Right Mouse ButtonR
ALL - SEL_R_LABEL - Simulation Control - PMDG737:EVT TCAS MODE - SingleClick: Right Mouse ButtonR
START - SEL_R_LABEL - Simulation Control - PMDG737:EVT TCAS MODE - SingleClick: Right Mouse Button

This makes the switch step up the modes from the OFF (STBY on 737) position to the START (TA/RA on 737) one by one.
However when I am moving the switch down it doesn't step down. When I reach the OFF position again it moves to that position.

If I change the action for the R position to Set ON (1) then I can move between OFF - R - L - R - OFF.
However if I move up as far as ALL or START positions I experience the same problem and cannot move back 1 step at a time.

How do I configure this switch so that I move up 1 step clockwise and down 1 step anti-clockwise?

I hope that this makes sense?

Changing the behavior of the engine starter switch to "Dial" should do what you want.
Settings->Devicesettings->Saitek.Switchpanel , chnage engine switch to "Dial" , hit "Save changes" , restart SPAD.neXt

I haven't even noticed the Devicesettings option...!

Ok I've done that and restarted SPAD.
Now when I right click on the Engine Starter switch the 'Configure Engine Dial' is greyed out?
If I try and 'enable' it says 'You cannot enable a switch that is not configured'.
A 'catch 22' situation I'm afraid.
Is there something I'm missing c0nnex?

Great. Fast work.
Will I have to download an update from somewhere?

Downloaded the update and it works.
Changed the knob to a DIAL and it works well.
