It may have to do with the Arduino (a Pro Micro), or the software from Instructables - Arduino Leonardo/Micro As Game Controller/Joystick

I've been trying my luck with MobiFlight and the Arduino UNO.

The 7 segment display does work, but I'd rather use something much smaller like the Pro Micro, which is listed on that page. Unfortunately, he's pretty much dropped any support for the Pro Micro.

At this point, I think that Ulrich has too much on his hands to work on an Arduino interface for 7 segment displays.

I'll have to concentrate on monitor display readouts when Air Manager V3 is launched. :|

The thing is numbers how may of us are using Arduino's?
If the numbers are not there then no one will put it high on the todo list.
I only see about 10 to 12 user names and only 2 or 3 posting that they are working with them.
Then there is which boards leo, T3, uno or all to interface with.

Hope one day but till then we keep playing with then as USB joysticks.
I hope that the Arduino based FIP still comes to SPAD.neXt.

Test the other Lib (joystick 2 & 3) tonight.
Joystick.h - shows up as - 1 Board with 32 buttons, 5 Axis & 1 Hat.
Joystick2.h - shows up as - 2 Boards with 16 buttons & 2 Axis on each.
Joystick3.h - shows up as - 3 Boards with 16 buttons & 2 Axis on each.

That open source for you.

Hi guys, this Arduino controler information looks very promising. I'm bumping into Leo Bodnar BBI32 limitations myself at the moment. They are great for a lot of things, but apparently not for connecting LEDs independent of switches. I would like the LEDs in my pushbuttons controled by the LVARs that I can find in SPAD.NEXT (to build a FCU for FSLabs 320). Could someone point me in the right direction. Will it be possible and what hardware should I get. I'm a complete Arduino newbie. I managed to get all my switches working with FSUIPC and SPAD.NEXT...but I'm really stuck now with the LEDs.

Thanks for that link. I guess that card is controlled using SPAD.NEXT without Arduino? Does SPAD.NEXT recognize the card so LED light action can easily be assigned using LVAR conditions?

Yes exactly. You can control every led seperately.

Support for Arduino devices is on the todo list, but I will not start it before other major problems are fixed.

Been sick for a while, so I'm late getting back here. I don't have much time, so I'll try to keep it short.

My interests are getting a few (2, maybe 3) 7 segment displays up and running. I'd also like to make an O M I (Outer, Middle, Inner) marker display.

Most of the planes that I like are of the low and slow kind, so my needs are really kind of small.

Someone interested in a full set of panels with lots of LED's for a Airbus is going to need more controls. But even there, I find tying single LED's to an instrument switch no big deal. You turn a switch, a light comes on. Simple. No need for a processor.

So my needs are simple, I'd like to keep the cost down if possible, AND I'd like to keep the size small.

The Pro Micro's (Leonardos) fit the bill perfectly. Cheep ($2.19USD) and small (about the size of 2 small postal stamps), and very easy to program.

The main advantage that the $60 PacLED64 Advanced LED Controller has is it's being well known and simpler (if more limited) to use. Of course, it's primary use is lighting up to 64 LED's. Not controlling buttons, encoders, etc. But another $30USD gets you a PacDrive USB driver board for switches.

An Arduino microcontroller isn't for everyone, But a Pro Micro for $2.19? That might prove the extra effort.

So as much as I like the looks of a 7 segment display, having to use an Arduino MEGA2560 R3 board that's about the side of a deck of cards to get it leaves me less than enthusiastic.

So if you need an Arduino MEGA2560 in a smaller size to use with MobiFlight, this could work out very well.

When Ulrich does his magic, you may still be able to use it. If not, then you can still us it, and you haven't spent all that much.
