The switches that I bought have a very small flange, or rim. As careful as I was, I still drilled one hole a bit out of line with the others. That was covered up when I decided to print a cover sheet with the button labels on it. Without the cover label, you could just see where I moved the hole over. Buttons with a larger rim would have hidden the mistake.

As it is, I think that the printed labels look better on the GPS than my first choice - self sticking labels as seen on my button box.

I am lucky there I have a drill press and cross slide vice so getting the holes in line is easy just use the cross slide.
As for the labeling that I can do at work. I work in with barcode labeling printers (freight/product type labels) so I have printer that will print on sticky label Black/white and colour up to 8" wide and 39" long.

ok build first 4-Digit 7-Seg demo.
Kabels fromstarter kit are crap .. took me 2 hours to find out one was broken. Replaced all and voila it works.
Another hour later SPAD.neXt was able to talk to the board ;)
So for the Uno R3 it's done.

Unfortunately I ordered my Teeny without pins. Not going to solder on xmas ;) So'll wait till the one with pins arrives.
Firmware already done ;)

Good to see you are enjoying the arduino. They are pretty cool, I was lucky to get a PacLed64 under the tree so am looking at that at the moment.

Here's the proof of concept ;)

SPAD.neXt connecting FSX to Teensy 3.5 driving a 4-Digit Segment Display showing the transpondercode.
Parts used:
Teensy 3.5 , 74HC595 , 5643A. Occupies 7 Outputs on Teensy
