I had the same issue. I moved usb ports but that didn't fix it. My solution was to just abandon X-Plane. Waiting on MSFS2020.

What is the correct setup to use a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 as the XY axis for the aileron / elevator control on a heli? I can't find the right provisioning, but it works fine using FSUIPC.
