Thanks Lee, that did it - the Begin/End Command made the difference. Maybe this is an X-Plane-specific thing. I tried leaving it at 'Execute Command' and setting the parameter to 1 or 2 manually, and if you do this it automatically changes to 'Begin Command' or 'End Command'. Anyway, I now have my e...

To access the carenado dataref within spad.next you must create a file called Datarefs.txt within the aircraft folder in this file type the following : com/dkmp/StartL com/dkmp/StartR Spad.next will default these to a number (int) and will be available in the change data value X-Plane/com. Can I tailgate this question please, as my similar one over in the registered forum seems to have been overlooked. I am looking for particular core datarefs that seem to be missing, although a tool to harvest custom datarefs from add-ons sounds helpful.

You can do this by adding the datarefs yourself. Search for 'x-plane add custom datarefs'. I will try to be more specific later when I can remember how I did it for the REP

I thought people might find this helpful in getting started. I'm using the Carenado Beech Baron in X-Plane 11 and this goes into a fair bit of detail on how to map the buttons and switches.
