Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
You have to install the SDK on the main and remote PCs for P3D.
You also need to make sure you Firewall in windows is not blocking.
I have 2 computers and have SPAD on both -- primary has the Sim and some of the controllers while the remote PC has all of the FIPS.

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
Can anyone comfirm this setup improves performance significantly?
I have my sim, 12 fips, 5 panels, Brunner yoke, and 5 other controllers all on the same pc. When I turn off SPAD I don’t see any real improvement in frame rates to warrant setting up a 2nd PC I get about 3 - 4 FPS improvement.
Larry hope you get your setup working again with the help of the forum.
I did try and do this in FSX once and failed, please let us know how you eventually fix it just in case I/we try this for ourselves

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
I’m having the same problem trying to setup SPAD on two pc. Just can’t get remote SPAD to connect to simconnect on the main pc.
Having spoken with Ulrich he said the sdk isn’t needed on the remote PC.
Will continue to trouble shoot later and report any findings

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
Spent the entire weekend trying to get this to work and had to revert back to a single PC.
Ulrich indicated there was an issue with simconnect on the server not excepting external connections, said it was using the wrong version of simconnect. I have checked every setting three times. Followed both the instructions provided by SPAD and avsim and I just cant get this to work. It’s not a firewall issue ive found simconnect isn’t broadcasting on the defined server port on the local PC.
If Ulrich gets back to me with more info I’ll keep you posted.

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
Daz.
I run two PCs. You do also need to setup the SimConnect DLL stuff for the remote systems. There is settings that need to be made on the Main PC to enable network. Then you also need to make a Config File that runs on the Remote pc that goes in My Documents.
I download and install all of the SDKs on the Remote PCs -- if it does not need to be done well then fine but I did it as well.
I have two instances working fantastic and yes moving the FIPS off of the main CPU helps since they are Rendered by the CPU. I previously had my Active Sky on the remote PC as well. Moved it to the local so that it could pickup the local loaded flight plans. However really I might move it back just cause I can.

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
It was a firewall issue, you do not need to install simconnect on the remote PC this was confirmed by Ulrich

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
So then the key is just to have the SimConnect.CFG file in your My Documents folder on the remote PC?

Re: Cannot get working on server/client mode
Yeah for me it was, just the config file, using the correct port number on the remote and open the application in the simulator pc firewall
